Color Model Considerations

This tool accepts HEX, RGB, and named colors, converting them internally to sRGB for simulation. For professional design:

  • Web/UI Design: Use HEX for CSS, test with Deuteranopia (most common CVD). If you need to convert your design's hex codes to other color models for print specifications, try our HEX to CMYK converter.
  • Print Design: Convert CMYK values to RGB first for accurate simulation
  • Brand Systems: Test primary/secondary palette against all CVD types

Gamut differences: Some print colors cannot be accurately simulated on screen.

Understanding Simulation Results

The simulated color shows how someone with selected CVD perceives your color. Key observations:

  • Deuteranopia/Protanopia: Reds and greens shift toward brown/yellow. To see how these shift in a different color space, you can use the HEX to Lab converter to analyze perceptual differences.
  • Tritanopia: Blues and yellows become confused
